The last time I wore this skirt on the blog was almost exactly a year ago, when I named the post Vintage Girl Seeking Handsome Leather Jacket. And that was exactly what I wanted to pair with this much-loved vintage skirt, but my quest to find The Perfect Leather Jacket had been a fruitless one for about 10 or 15 years...
... until this year. I found it, waiting patiently for me at the shops, hiding under a removable faux fur collar and desperate to be united with the nautical pleated skirt. It knew I wouldn't mind the fact that it's not real leather, despite my theory that The Perfect Leather Jacket needed to be just that. Nor did I mind in the slightest that it was easy on the wallet, because the fit was just right and it was so soft, just like really expensive buttery leather. No, I just knew the two of them were meant to be together. And they met, and they fell in love.
And that is the story of how a vintage skirt came to find its true love in the form of a faux leather biker jacket.
The story will continue, albeit in a not-so-happy way: How The Jealous Vintage Skirt Coped With The Infidelity of The Perfect Leather Jacket. Stay tuned folks ;)
