All black and white - with no other colour - is highly unusual for me, but when you're styling a statement piece like this black and white striped faux fur coat then an abundance of colour is of secondary importance! It felt more than a little 1970s to me, so I went with the 70s groove and added my black floppy hat, though I think I'll be wearing it with a felt fedora too this winter.
I've got more than a few statement coats now (I bought a couple last winter too) - I may complain about the cold but I sure love wearing a fabulous coat... I'm aware of the irony. What's your favourite coat to make a big statement - are you a faux fur lover, or do you prefer a patterned coat (checks and tartan are big this year) - or is a solid colour your weapon of choice? Do share!
P.S. Style tip: it sort of looks like I'm wearing pointed heel boots here - I'm not, it's skinny jeans, with heels and socks (yes, socks)! If you suffer from cold feet as I do, socks are practical but can look a bit rubbish with this type of look. If you wear socks that are properly, truly black (and it helps if they're quite new as well as black does fade), then you can get away with them making the heels look like boots. Result!
